Capitaine Bougainville 50th Memorial Service

Here are some photos of the amazing event held on Wednesday the 3rd of September about the Capitaine Bougainville 50th Memorial Service.

On 3:40am 50 years ago, on a very Stormy night, nothing like today was, the Capitaine Bougainville Ship caught fire. 16 people lost thier lives that night, and it will be forever etched into the lives of the Whananaki community.

While we all acknowledge the hard work and determination of many of the community, we also know that Whangarei's Search and Rescue, the Police and all the emergency services team did an amazing job that night too.
